Day 01: Arrival Nyaung U, Bagan Sightseeing (-, -, -)

Bagan pagodasAfter breakfast, transfer to Yangon Airport for a flight to Bagan. Upon your arrival time, transfer to your hotel. After a short rest, you will explore the archaeological fields of Bagan. Between the 11th and 13th century one of the greatest and most beautiful cities of Asia was located at this field and decorated with more than 13000 temples, pagodas and monasteries. Around 2000 religious buildings are preserved.

Visit the Shwezigon Pagoda which was built in the 11th century, the kubyaukgyi temple with its famous mural paintings and the Htilomino temple which reaches a height of 46 meters. In the afternoon continue to the well-known Ananda temple which once set the architectural benchmark in Asia. Later see the holy Manuha, Nanpaya and Myinkabar Gubyaukgyi. Enjoy the romantic sunset at one of the many pagodas.

Day 2: Tamarind Lake CBT Village Home (B , L ,-)

Tamarind villageThe car driver will pick you up from your hotel in Bagan at 9am and then start the tour. Drive to Tamarind Lake which is CBT village and en route to Tamarind Lake, you will see Salay City, located in Chauk Township, approximately 1 hour and half drive away from Bagan. Salay is well-known for the ancient religious monuments from the Konbaung Dynasty (late 19th Century). Among those monuments, Yoke Sone Kyaung Monastery/Museum is a must-see for the visitors.

After 1 hour and half driving, firstly you will arrive to Tamarind Lake Village Homes (Ma Kyi Kan Village) and the village will welcome you with traditional music and dance performance show. After that, village’s home cooked lunch will wait for you under the bamboo house. After having the great lunch, you will have a chance to visit around village and farm by riding bullock cart with guiding local guide.

After take a rest at village, in around 2 pm, the driver and village local guide will send you to Yoke Sone Monastery, It is famous with its spectacular woodcarvings and also it is the native town of the famous writer Salay U Pone Nya during the time of the Myanmar Kings. There are very beautiful artistic work woodcarvings around it and also ancient Buddha image, utensils of Yadanabon 19 century period. After that, Shin Pin Sar Kyo Hla Pagoda, Mann Pagoda, U Phoe Kyi House and Salay House which is a restaurant with souvenir shop displaying antique and traditional homemade things. And then you will have to visit to Salay Tamarind Juice production site and you can also taste and buy. Salay After all sightseeing in Salay, the driver will take you back to Bagan and drop you down to your hotel or your location.

Day 3:  (B,-,-)                                              

MinnanthuToday after breakfast, you will visit to Min-Nan-Thu village. The villagers are open and friendly. Visitors can enjoy villager’s demonstration of a frame of their traditional life including cotton weaving, peanut oil distillation, etc. Some villagers make bamboo ware for sale: picture frames, handy phone holders, pen holders, etc. when you arrive in Bagan, why do not you have a look at the Min-nan-thu village activities to understand the local people life?

It will be an unforgettable memory.

Then, visit West Pwa-Saw village. It is located 3 km to the northeast of New Bagan and just within a stone’s throw from Min-Nan-Thu village. The village name derived from Queen Pwa-Saw of Bagan Period. The villagers introduced lacquer ware production techniques in 1990s from MyinKaba Village where they used to work. Nowadays, a certain number of the village households live on lacquer ware production. Younger generation is starting succeeding to the know-how. The village has some spirited and talented craftsmen. You will find different types of their original products at workshops. This is a still unknown but really unmissable village.

Take a break and return to your hotel for a short rest, escaping the heat of the midday sun.

In the evening explore the tour by bike passing Thatbyinnyu, the highest temple in Bagan, massive Dhammayangyi Temple, noted for its remarkable brickwork, and Sulamani Temple. Enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the plains from the upper terrace of one of the temples.

We will meet you at your hotel to bring you to the airport for your departure to next destination and say good bye to you.
