Beyond Boundaries Co., Ltd. is committed to sustainable, responsible and ethical business in compliance with applicable laws, conventions and regulations. We have clearly written policies and clear code of conduct that all our employees and local business partners and suppliers has to follow accordingly to our organization’s sustainable goals.

Sustainability is becoming a critical issue on this world as the impacts of global warming and uncontrollable and harmful plastic and chemical wastes everywhere. “We love the world we are living in and our responsibility is there to save the world in return.”

Not just for the environment, we are equally responsible for our people, community and their cultures along the supply chain. It is very important to consider the sustainable concept while working on the development as most of our country’s population has still limited access to the education and so we believe through tourism is the best and most practical mean to give them sustainable education while providing them job opportunities.

Beyond Boundaries Myanmar also encourage our customers to be responsible travelers by following do’s and don’ts that will help increase positive impacts on the environment and culture of the place you are visiting. Beyond Boundaries ensure the spending of our customers are well distributed to the right organizations, communities and local businesses and we spare every 1% of our income to the social enterprises and environmental conservation projects.

Do’s

  • Carry back all non-degradable litter such as empty bottles, tins, plastic bags etc. These must not litter the environment or be buried. They must be disposed properly in municipal dustbins only.
  • Respect cultural differences. Observe the sanctity of holy sites, temples and local cultures. Do no harm them with your behavior. Dress respectively.
  • Cut noise pollution. Do not blare aloud radios, tape recorders or other electronic entertainment equipment in nature resorts, sanctuaries and wildlife parks or anywhere that disturb the environment.
  • Ask for prior permission before taking a photograph.
  • Use the natural resources moderately, such as water and energy, are scarce.
  • Support local products and businesses as much as you can.
  • Support a local charity or organization that works towards responsible.
  • Avoid receiving unnecessary brochures.
  • Use rechargeable batteries.

Don’ts

  • Do not take away flora and fauna in the forms of cuttings, seeds or roots.
  • Do not use pollutants such as detergent, in streams or springs while washing and bathing.
  • Do not leave cigarettes butts or make open fires in the forests.
  • Do not consume aerated drinks, alcohol, drugs or any other intoxicant and throw bottles in the wild.
  • Do not tempt the locals, especially children by offering them food stuff or sweets. Respect local traditions.
  • Do not change linen unless you consider it necessary at the accommodations you are staying.
  • Do not purchase or eat endangered species (e.g. turtle egg soup, crocodile handbags).
  • Do not give pens, candy or other gifts to local children – it fosters a begging economy. If you wish to donate, contact a local school or tour operator who can ensure the gifts are distributed properly.
  • Do not support the illegal drug trade or the sex trade.
  • Do not buy illegal souvenirs such as Ivory and other mammal or reptile teeth and bones, Quills, feathers and bird beaks, Reptile skins, Furs, Turtle and Tortoise Shells, Wildlife in Medicines, Corals and Seashells
