Day 1: Nyaung Shwe – Phaya Taung (-, -, -)

In the afternoon we will pick you up from your hotel in Nyaung Shwe and transfer by tuk-tuk to the bus station where we take a local bus to Phayartaung. And when we say local we really mean local. The bus is stopping at every village to let people or goods in an out and basically functions a bit like the local postman (for letters, packages or big bags of rice). Expect to be surrounded by colourful local villagers.

Optional: a private car transfer with a guide from Nyaung Shwe to Samkar, supplement + 38 USD/person

The bus will leave from Nyaung Shwe around 15:00 and will arrive to Phayartaung around 17:30.

Upon arrival, the hotel will bring you to the hotel.

Overnight at the Inle Sanctuary, Lodge Room (3 star boutique hotel run on solar power)

Day 2: Samkar Lake and surroundings – a day soft trekking to Pa O & Shan villages (B, L, - )

Breakfast at the hotel.

We start a day trekking to visit Pa O and Shan villages. Pa O, One of the distinctive hill tribes from Shan State, who are known for their navy blue clothes and colourful red or orange turban and their good farming and trading skills. During this day trekking you get to know life as the Pa O live it and will visit their villages in the hills. Depending on the routing we might pass a cave or hot springs.

The start of the trekking today takes about 2.5 hours passing Pa O and Shan villages. We arrive around noon at the lunch place where we have typical Shan food from this region.

In the afternoon we continue for another 3 hours and arrive back to the hotel in time for sunset.

We want to support local communities and therefore we decide to have the tour accompanied by local people who have limited English skills but love their area and will lead you though their community with pride.

Day 3: Phaya Taung - Samkar – Nyaung Shwe by private boat (B, L, - )

Breakfast at the hotel.

Free at leisure in the morning and around 10:30, meet with the guide and we start visit the Samkar monastery and the Samkar village. We continue a private boat ride to visit Hmawbi temple ruins, pottery production in Kyauk Taing, floating gardens, villages on stilts on the lake and other sights the lake is famous for. A packed lunch will be served during the visits.

We arrive to the jetty in Nyaung Shwe at the end of the day.
